Procedure
:

Introduction
Begin the class greeting the students and describing the day’s lesson in the target language.  Review necessary vocabulary for the day – colors, clothes, personality traits, physical descriptions, etc.  (8 minutes)

Main Activity
1.) On the board will be a picture of a group of people.  The teacher will pass out a description written in the target language.  Based on this description, students should figure out which person in the picture is being described. (5 minutes)

2.) After students have identified the person, have students reread the description and underline the adjectives and circle the nouns. (5 minutes)

3.) The teacher will ask students what they notice happening to adjectives that described something feminine or something plural.  The teacher will have students write down notes about the rules for adjective agreement.  As a class, students will be given some nouns and some default adjectives and be asked to change them if needed. (10 minutes)

4.) To practice their understanding, students will pretend to be going on a study abroad trip to Mexico, and their sponsor family will pick them up at the airport.  They will have to write a description of themselves so that their sponsor family can find them.  They have to be as descriptive as possible.  Students will write their descriptions on a notecard provided by the teacher. (5 minutes)

5.) Students will pass their notecard to a partner for peer editing and make the appropriate corrections. (2 minutes)

6.) Students will turn in their notecards with only their initials on the back of it.  The teacher will randomly pass out the notecard to the students.  Students will come up to the front of the room, one-by-one, and read the description.  Then they will have to figure out who is the person being described. (13 minutes)

Closure (2 minutes)

They teacher will review the lesson and collect the notecards after students have written their names on them.

Follow Up Lessons / Activities
(2 minutes)
The teacher will discuss the topic of the next lesson.

Assessment

Of Learning: The notecards will be collected at the end of class to check for grammar, spelling, and accuracy of adjective agreement.  This will be a participation grade.
